A Peek at Our Week 4/19
We are learning the sound/spelling patterns based words with -ed, -ing endings and long e spelling patterns y, ie.
Spelling words: mix, mixed, hop, hopped, hope, hoping, run, running, use, used
High Frequency words: above, bear, even, pushed, studied, surprised, teacher, toward
We will read a realistic fiction text called, The Dot. We will practice the reading strategy Monitor/Clarify. We will discuss figurative language. We will continue to practice summarizing as we stop to tell about the important events as we read.
This week the children will focus on opinion writing.
We will continue Topic 12, Measure Lengths.
We will continue Unit 4, Plant and Animal Structures. In Lesson 1, we will learn what parts help plants live.
